Coming from a background in farming, I have always been surrounded by nature and noticed the harmonious relationship humans have with plants.
At an early age I began indulging in my favourite pastime of plant collecting. I enjoyed creating small gardens on our home farm in which to keep my increasingly extensive collections.
After attending Plumpton Horticultural College
I went on to train with the Royal Horticultural Society’s Garden at Wisley
. Whilst there I won the Eric Young Orchid Scholarship. I qualified as a judge on the Orchid Society of Great Britain’s judging scheme and judge orchid shows the world over.
During my 17 years within the horticultural industry I have worked with the RHS Garden Wisley, the Royal Botanic Garden’s Kew, Merriments Garden and Nursery and Sarah Raven’s Garden at Perch Hill Farm. I have travelled the world extensively observing horticultural practice. These observations help me relay my experiences and amassed knowledge to all who wish to learn the secrets of gardening for beauty and practicality.
